About GeoTok
GeoTok turns TikTok, Instagram and YouTube food videos into a personal map of real restaurants. You share it a video and it works out which restaurant is actually in the clip, then drops a pin.
The identification is the hard part. GeoTok reads three independent signals per video - the caption, an audio transcript, and OCR of any text on screen such as menu boards and signage - then reconciles conflicts between them. Across our own database of 1,518 mapped venues in 255 cities, 266 (17.5%) still cannot be identified from all three combined, and 277 of the 1,438 clips where we have audio never say the venue name aloud. One food video in six never tells you where it is.
Free on iOS 17+, with an optional GeoTok Plus subscription. Built solo. Dataset and method published at https://geotok.co/blog/tiktok-food-discovery-is-local-2026-study
